Rohit Shetty’s 2006 release Golmaal created a rage in Hindi cinema, with fans forming lines outside the theatres to watch the rip roaring blockbuster, the sequel (Golmaal Returns) too was met with great response and this Diwali the comedy king is making way with the third part of the series Golmaal 3, whether this one is the bigger hit than the previous ones let’s find out.

Golmaal 3 Movie Review

Though Action Replayy, which released alongside G3 goes in a backward swing by recreating the seventies era, Golmaal too draws its inspiration from there only, despite being sheik and new age Golmaal has a lot of “I am a Disco Dancer” or the Bappi Lehri era going for it, and why not when the main cast of this multi starrer is Mithun Chakraborty, there has to be some gags on his cult numbers.

The story of this film too doesn’t mind advertently lifting of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1977 cult comedy “Khatta Meetha”. Ratna Pathak plays the role of an unmarried mother of two, Ajay Devgn and Shreyas Talpade, Pappu (Mithun) is an unmarried father of three children, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, and Kunal Khemu, both Ratna and Mithun had a past which resurfaces when they meet after several years. Kareena Kapoor plays the cupid who reunites the old couple despite knowing that their kids are always at loggerheads with each other. How they come together follows series of gags and deliberate attempts to appear comic. G3 have series of gag stuff together that were probably picked up from laughter show Comedy Circus where director Rohit Shetty was a judge, may be that is one of the reasons to cram too many comedians like Johnny Lever, Vrajesh Hirjee, and Sanjay Mishra.

The film has an imbecile plot and nonsensical screenplay, the moment gags go missing from the story the film starts trudging along, music by Pritam is loud and ruckus however going by previous credentials and the festive time that it’s releasing may be the lowly gags work with the entertainment starved masses, Golmaal 3 will probably make you laugh but the quality of the series is deteriorating movie after movie; we at Bollywoodhottees give it 3 out of 5 stars.
