A R Rahman the musical genius turns 44 today.
On his birthday, what Rahman is most excited about his work. Yes, the workhorse, who loves to compose music at night, tweeted: “I am very excited about 127 Hours releasing in the UK today and what makes it even more special is that we scored the music here, in London”.
The other reason he’s excited is that he has been nominated for Golden Globe Awards in the Best Original Score category for his music in Danny Boyle’s ‘127 Hours’.

It’s been 18 years since Rahman first wowed us with his compositions. Like wise, he’s only gotten better with age. Yes, he was criticized for his CWG theme song, which people who were expecting something on the lines of Waka Waka found to be lacking in energy, without themselves having an ear to accept something new. Rahman answered the critics in the best way he can: by a stunning performance at the CWG opening.
